Evacuation Day Dinner
Mon. November 25, 2019
Early Bird RSVP 11/13
Regular RSVP 11/21
Evacuation Day marked the final British evacuation from New York City after seven years of occupation. The evening culminated in a festive dinner given by Governor George Clinton with George Washington at the tavern of Samuel Fraunces.
Evacuation Day remained a city holiday into the 1930s and the occasion was often marked by colorful ceremony.
Come join us as we continue this tradition, and celebrate as George Washington did that night, by raising your glass for the very same thirteen toasts given at the first Evacuation Day Dinner at Fraunces Tavern on November 25, 1783.
Celebrate with Sons of the Revolution and Fraunces Tavern!
6:30pm – Reception @ Davis Flag Galley, Fraunces Tavern Museum
7:30-9:30pm – Dinner @ Bissell Room, Fraunces Tavern Restaurant
