The Society’s activities include the annual George Washington Birthday Ball, honoring George Washington, each February; a Flag Day parade from City Hall down Broadway to Fraunces Tavern each June; the Battles of Lexington and Concord dinner with the Fraunces Tavern Museum Book Award each April; and an annual dinner commemorating the British evacuation from New York on November 25, 1783.
Fraunces Tavern Museum is owned and operated by the Society, with the mission of preserving and interpreting the history of the American Revolutionary era through public education. The Museum consists of multiple galleries, some permanent and some with rotating exhibits. The Museum has a robust educational program, including public programs with authors and other speakers, a Book Club, walking tours, and a remarkable program of school tours and related on-site courses for students.
