Open House Sat. June 12 & Sun. June 13 – $1 Admission to Fraunces Tavern Museum
Flag Day commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States on June 14, 1777 by resolution of the Second Continental Congress. While not a federal holiday, this special day is observed across the nation, from small towns to big cities, often with parades. Since 1916, Sons of the Revolution in the State of New York, Inc. (SRNY) has hosted the Flag Day Parade, Celebration, and Open House here in New York City.
While we are unable to host our traditional parade in 2021 due to New York City permit restrictions, we are hosting an Open House at our Fraunces Tavern Museum with $1 Museum admission June 12-13 from 12:00pm-5:00pm, and are excited to be able to resume our Flag Day Essay and Art Contest for New York City School Children, with the theme of “What the American Flag Means to Me.”
