Guest speaker: Author Bill Bleyer

RSVP by Friday, January 21, 2022

On Monday, January 24, 2022, SRNY commemorates the birthday of Frederick Samuel Tallmadge, the second President of the Sons of the Revolution℠ in the State of New York, whose generosity enabled the Society to acquire Fraunces Tavern in 1904. To celebrate, the Society and members of the public are invited to join us for a special lecture at Fraunces Tavern® Museum.

We are delighted to welcome special guest Bill Bleyer, author and prize-winning staff writer for the Long Island daily newspaper Newsday, who will give a presentation on the subject of his most recent book, George Washington’s Long Island Spy Ring: A History and Tour Guide, published in May 2021. Over the years there have been many legends about George Washington’s famous Culper Spy Ring. Join us as Mr. Bleyer separates facts from fiction and details the ingenious operation of the intelligence network that helped the Patriots win the war.

When: Monday, January 24, 2022,  6:30-8:30pm EST, presentation to begin at 7:00pm
