What We’ve Been Up To – Fall 2016

VCA and SRNY Board Member, Alan Borst at City Hall Park for the September Nathan Hale Day Commemoration
Since the Summer issue of The Patriot the Society has been busy; we’ve welcomed 15 new Society members, held two Board meetings, hosted Nathan Hale Day and planned to host the General Society of the Sons of the Revolution’s Annual Meeting, which was cancelled due to Hurricane Mathew.
Our biggest and most successful program, Fraunces Tavern Museum has had great success with a 47.6% attendance increase in the last five years and tripled growth in public program offerings, include this September’s successful Spy Week. We hope you were able to attend the June opening of the exhibition, Dunsmore: Illustrating the American Revolution. The Museum also put out it’s first Annual Giving Campaign in over six years, which has been met with generous support – Annual Giving Campaign.
The Color Guard presented the colors at many unique and special events, including the annual Nathan Hale Day at City Hall Park and the celebration of the victories of Yorktown and Saratoga at Trinity Church.
